Walking on water

By Dave Henning / March 20, 2012

John Ortberg bases his book If You Want to Walk on Water, You’ve Got to Get Out of the Boat on Matthew 14: 25-32, when Peter walks on water to meet Jesus.  In his preface the author asserts: “I believe that there is some aspect of your life in which God is calling you to walk with and to him, and that when we say yes to his calling, it sets in motion a divine dynamic far beyond merely human power . . . . Probably it will involve facing your deepest fear.  Certainly it will go to the core of who you are and what you do.”  Personally, God used my downsizing to bring my latent adult leadership skills to the forefront as I stepped out in faith to develop Crown of Compassion Ministries, substantially aided by a series of miraculous ‘God moments’, that truly reflects who I am and what God has called me to do.
