How’s your hearing?

In Part 7 of The Necessity of an Enemy, Ron Carpenter Jr. offers some final tips on winning the battle with the enemy.  Discussing Matthew’s account of Peter walking on water to meet Jesus, Pastor Carpenter notes that Jesus’ spoken word to Peter sustained his walk on the water.  Peter only got that sinking feeling when he saw the wind and the waves and realized that what he saw contradicted what he had heard.

The author then extends his thoughts to the present: “Right now . . . you may be at a point in your career, your marriage, your finances, or another area of your life where it feels as if an enemy is destroying you.  If that’s your situation, I have great news for you: the presence of an enemy is telling you how available you future and calling still are!”

That’s why it’s so vital for us to affirm what we hear in God’s Word and what we possess through our faith in Jesus.

Romans 10:17- “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
