Pastor Max Lucado continues Chapter 4 of Fearless with a list of 8 worry-stoppers that provide us with additional resources for our battle with anxiety. The first 4 are presented here:
1. Pray first, asking for God’s help inwardly so that we can face our fears outwardly. 1 Peter 5:7- “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.”
2. Easy now- take it easy, slow down and rest in the Lord (Psalm 37:7). Like Mary at the Wedding at Cana, we need to accurately assess our problem and take it to Jesus.
3. Act on your worry. Think of your worry as a pesky mosquito. You don’t take time to think about that mosquito biting you or decide to take care of it at your convenience. You slap it immediately. As Max states: “Be a doer, not a stewer.”
4. Compile a worry list. Then analyze your list and do a reality check. How many of your worries were fulfilled?
