Enough is enough!

“I can do all things through him who strengthens me.”- Philippians 4:13

“A failed attempt is not failing.  Failing is not trying.  If you are trying, you are succeeding.”- Mark Batterson

Mark Batterson continues Chapter 11 of All In by emphasizing that there comes a point in our lives when enough is enough.  We know that the path we’re on is a dead end, and we can’t continue down that path to nowhere.  While it’s not likely that the status quo will kill us, the author asserts, it will eat us alive.

The good news, Pastor Batterson encourages, is that we’re only one decision away from a radically different life.  Deadlines are the key to achieving our goals.  Although the first step is the longest and the hardest, we must commit to a new course of action.  Our greatest enemy is inertia.  Furthermore, Satan attempts to discourage us by overwhelming us.  The way to counter Satan is by breaking down our goals into manageable steps.  Pastor Batterson contends we spend far too much energy focusing on the outcome- the very thing we cannot control.

The results are God’s responsibility.  Our job is to focus on the right thing for the right reason.  We can do all things through Christ, who gives us strength.

Today’s question: Have you reached the point where enough is enough?  How can you take the first step toward revisioning your vocation?  Please share.
