Give yourself a kind of grace

“Know that there’s a learning curve and give yourself a kind of grace.”- Lauren Ledbetter

“Beautiful things happen when you distance yourself from negativity.”- Zig Ziglar

In Chapter 4 (“Always Learn”) of Fully and Creatively Alive, Tom Eggebrecht highlights the fact that people can’t ever afford to stop learning.  For the moment you stop learning, you risk the chance of becoming irrelevant.  Each and every day, you need to remind yourself to take the posture of a student.  Also, learn about things that may or may not bear instant results.

Moving on to Chapter 5 (“Aim Your Attitude”), Pastor Eggebrecht stresses that a positive attitude certainly helps, since failures and setbacks are bound to occur.  Indeed, Lauren Ledbetter, a freelance ‘brand designer,’ believes we really learn how to choose fitting options through nascent failure.  Therefore, you need to give yourself a kind of grace.

However, don’t allow failure to translate to gloomy thinking.  Negativity infects others more than a good attitude.   As a result, we need to reflect a positive image, giving all others boost of energy in the process.

Author Charles Swindoll once wrote about the beauty of daily being able to choose one’s own mindset:

“The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life.  Attitude, to me, is more important than facts . . . the past . . . education . . . money . . . circumstances . . . failures . . . successes . . . what other people think or do.  It is more important than appearance, giftedness, or skill.”

Hence, your mindset either makes or breaks you.  At the end of the day, your positive attitude centers on helping and serving others, not you.

Today’s question: In what area(s) do you need to give yourself a kind of grace?  Please share.
