“God wants to speak to us about who He has called us to be and what He has called us to do, and to ignite a mandate on our lives, but what is required is separation to our inner room.”- Banning Liebscher
“And Elisha the prophet called one of the sons of the prophets and said to him, ‘Get yourself ready, take this flask of oil in your hand, and go to Ramoth Gilead. Now when you arrive at that place, look there for Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat, the son of Nimshi, and go in and make him rise up from his associates, and take him to an inner room.”- 2 Kings 9:1-2 (NKJV)
As Banning Liebscher continues Chapter 7 of Rooted, he state God gives us strategies and anointing specific to our calling. That takes place in the inner room. For example, Elisha sent a son of the prophets to anoint Jehu king over Israel. This took place in an inner room. As a result, in one day Jehu and his companions overthrew the evil, oppressive reign of Queen Jezebel. In this key moment, Jehu encountered God. And it forever changed the trajectory of his life.
Furthermore, Pastor Liebscher underscores, it’s in the inner room of prayer where God reveals His story to you. Banning explains:
“When you separate yourself to the inner room of prayer, the Lord begins to shift the narrative that’s been shaping your perspective on your time and place in history. You begin to see the story that’s unfolding. . . . God is not only unfolding a story on the earth, but He is also active in your live with His story. He is writing His story over you. He has a plan and a purpose for your live that is full of hope and courage.”
