“The message of the miracles is the Miracle Worker himself. He wants you to know you are never alone. You are never without help, hope, or strength. You are stronger than you think because God is nearer than you might imagine.”- Max Lucado
“Jesus performed many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.”- John 20:20-21 (NIV)
In Chapter 12 (“Believe, Just Believe”), the final chapter of Never Alone, Max Lucado encourages us to take the plunge, to jump into a relationship with Jesus that’s vibrant, joyous, and yes, fun! Of course, it’s not always easy. Certainly, though, it’s worth the risk. Pastor Lucado continues:
“God wants us to . . . win in faith, in hope, in life. He wants us to win for eternity. He marshals every force, enlists every tool, employs every miracle so you and I will someday throw triumphant fists into the sky. Can I urge you to see the miracles of Jesus as part of his arsenal? They were, and are, part of the collective chant from heaven, crying your name and more, calling upon us to believe. He still sends this invitation through miracles.”
Finally, Max exhorts us to remember that we’re always under the care of God’s ever-present help. The winds of fate and chance fail to whip us around like weather vanes. Rather, we’re children of a mighty and good God who cares for us. In addition, Max offers this blessing:
“May you dwell in the grace of the cross, the hope of the empty tomb, and the assurance of restoration power. But most of all may you believe — believe that God is your ever-present help. And in his presence may you find rest.”
Today’s question: How does Jesus, the Miracle Worker, help you know that you’re never alone? Please share.
