A fuzzy sense of your destiny?

By Dave Henning / February 7, 2021

“A lack of fulfillment directly correlates to a fuzzy sense of destiny.  If you do not know your destiny or are not working toward it or living it out, you won’t feel fulfilled simply because you won’t have tapped into the most authentic, genuine part of who you are.”- Dr. Tony Evans

“So I do not run aimlessly; I do not box as one beating the air.”- 1 Corinthians 9:26 (ESV)

In Chapter 3 (“Rationale”) of Discover Your Destiny, Dr. Tony Evans presents six critical rationales for discovering your destiny.  However, Dr. Evans counsels, he can’t tell you how to find your destiny until you’re convinced you need to find it.  Thus, Tony adds, living out your destiny addresses six key areas in your life.  Those six areas = fulfillment, direction, stability, significance, identity, and provision.

Today Dr. Evans covers the first two areas.

1.  Fulfillment.  Certainly, we all struggle with various issues or challenges in our lives.  But, lack of fulfillment denotes one of the most dominating issues plaguing many of us today.  Yet, artificial sources of happiness fail to maximize the rawest part of you.  Because nothing measures up to true authentic living based on your very own unique destiny.  True fulfillment lives in your very core.  Dr. Evans adds:

“Success is not doing more of something than others have done of doing it better than they have done it.  Success is doing what you were created to do.”

 2.  Direction.  Without an intended destination, you bounce between here and there like a ball in a pinball machine.  As a result, you try a variety of approaches, hoping that one leads to a good place.  Above all, this leads to fuzzy decision-making.

Therefore, direction matters.  And knowing your intended destination helps you answer questions wisely.  For an unclear sense of direction leads to a hit and miss life.
