The glue of His unconditional love

By Dave Henning / October 1, 2021

“No matter how badly you have messed up, He will take the broken pieces of your life and, with the glue of His unconditional love, put your life back together.”- Dr. Charles F. Stanley

“Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; your good Spirit lead me on level ground.”- Psalm 145:10 (NIV)

In Chapter 17 (“A Personal Promise”) of Can You Still Trust God?, Dr. Charles Stanley observes that you may be walking through a valley and wondering if you’re in God’s will.  At that point it’s vital to remember God’s promise.  His promise to guide you and lead you to a place where you’ll fulfill His will and purpose for your life.

As King David walked through the valley, he knew he’d emerge victorious on the other side.  Rather than turning sorrowful, David became a man after God’s own heart.  No matter what the circumstances, He learned to do God’s will.

Hence, God led David through a lifetime of trials and victories.  As a result, we need to answer one question: Are we willing for God to do the same in our lives?

Therefore, Dr. Stanley talks about three things we need to know concerning waiting on God’s direction.

1.  He will show us His will.  First, God desires that we know His will.  Thus, He assumes responsibility for telling us how to live in the center of His will on a daily basis.  However, we must take responsibility to do what He leads us to do.  So, we put on our walking shoes and move forward by faith.

2.  He is committed to our success.  If God wants us to live in the center of His will, His will isn’t a mystery we can’t find or discover.  From birth, God’s been working the circumstances of our lives together so we can fulfill His will.

3.  He will correct and redirect us when we make a wrong turn.  Above all, it’s never too late to discover God’s will for your life.  Because His promise remains the same as it was on the day of your birth.

Today’s question: How has God put your life back together with the glue of His unconditional love?  Please share.
