Serving the church as a primary grade school teacher and as a pastor and campus pastor I was in the parish when there were reductions in force at a Concordia and had my call vacated when I served at a Concordia. I would never have signed up to go through that process but now that so many servants of the church, friends and congregational members are living through the situation I am thankful for the insight and understanding gained. Church work is being redefined by the economic and societal pressures. I believe most pastors will be bi-vocational in years to come.
