Time + Preparation = Opportunity

By Dave Henning / April 26, 2012

One of the key points Jeff Manion makes in his book The Land Between is that when the Israelites left Egypt they were unprepared to enter the Promised Land.  They needed desert transformation time.

Bob Merritt (When Life’s Not Working) echoes that perspective when he ways that some people want God to bless them with opportunities before they are prepared to handle them.  He continues: “It takes time and preparation to grow in wisdom and stature.  Sometimes it feels like you’re in a desert and things aren’t going your way, but God does some of his best work in deserts.  Sometimes God has to build something in your before he can do something through you, and that takes time and preparation.”

As Proverbs 21:5 says: “Good planning and hard work lead to prosperity, but hasty shortcuts head to poverty.” (NLT)
