The delivery system for our divine invitation

By Dave Henning / October 21, 2020

“The circumstances we would typically use as excuses to avoid the sacred chase actually serve as the delivery system for our divine invitation.  What happens when spiritual passion and soul-awareness collide in the presence of Jesus?  All of heaven’s resources are released to propel you and me forward in our sacred chase. . . .  our life is . . . filled with divine promises, even when they can’t be seen.”- Heath Adamson

“We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure.  This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves.”- 2 Corinthians 4:7 (NLT)

In Chapter 4 (“Legion’s Greatest Treasure”) of The Sacred Chase, Heath Adamson exhorts you to focus on this mind-blowing treasure: God within you.  God loves you because of who He is, not because of what you’ve done.  As God’s treasured possession, your identity = God’s child.

However, when we look at our current reality in life and all that went into bringing us here, we often draw a conclusion counter to this truth.  Rather than feeling like God treasures us, we permit our circumstances to dictate how we perceive God.

Therefore, when we feel that God’s either absent or uninvolved, we fail to either begin or continue the sacred chase.  In truth, God actively partners with you in life as He introduces you to the real you.  Hence, Heath counsels: “Listening to our excuses in life is easy; choosing to cultivate a deeper connection to God in the midst of their hollow tirade is transformative.”

Finally, Mr. Adamson  stresses, sometimes God delivers us from storms.  But at other times He delivers us in storms.  Either way, the story contains a miracle.  The author adds:

“Our response to God, however, should never be progressive, circumstantial, based on happenstance, or casual.  Immediate obedience and immediate surrender are our only logical responses when Jesus is near.”
