Embrace the tempo of life that works for you

“When you accept your wiring and embrace the tempo of life that works for you, a beautiful thing will happen: you’ll stop feeling inferior when you encounter people who like to live at a different pace.  You’ll be inspired by them instead of discouraged by them.”- Jennifer Fulwiler

In Chapter 10 (“You Can Live At a Tempo That Works for You” of Your Blue Flame, Jennifer Fulwiler underscores that you need to live at a tempo of life suited to you.  Yet, when it comes to finding the best tempo of life for you, one pressure you’ll face involves living bigger and faster.

However, many people find peace when they chill out and do less.  In addition, times in your life occur when the tempo that’s right for you might change.  As a result, even if you think you know your present life speed, pause every few months.  Make sure that tempo still provides the right way for you to thrive.

Furthermore, the author asserts, how and when you sleep make up the most fundamental aspect of your life tempo.  Therefore, Jennifer believes, you must understand several key concepts about your relationship to sleep.  For example – how long it takes you to fall asleep or how easy it is to wake you up.  Together, these factors determine your sleep temperament type.  Above all, knowing your sleep type helps you make informed decisions regarding when and how you rest.

In conclusion, Jennifer emphasizes the need to embrace the tempo of life that works for you.  She reminds us:

“Embracing your tempo of life is a key step toward accepting the person you were meant to be.  When you do that, you can stop comparing yourself to others.  And when you do that, you can unite with people who thrive at different paces, and you can use your differences to inspire one another as you use your blue flames.”
